Knowing a language proves there is 'more than meets the eye'. It takes you deeper into a nation's culture, deepening your understanding of the people.
It has given me different perpectives on the world we live in, independence and has made me a more tolerant person.
Learning a foreign language has widen my scope of knowledge and has opened the gate to the International World.
I love writing and communicating.
I wish I had learned a language more proficiently (taking this from a different angle)- to be confident in communicating and to understand languages in general.
Learning a language is like having a secret key. Suddenly everything opens up. And I love hearing, "Parli bene italiano!" :)
Learning a foreign language took me on a path that I never had considered an option before for my life. I was given a career that I absolutely love.
There is nothing better in the world than speaking to someone in their own language. Sharing that joy with my pupils is my life's passion
Being bilingual has opened so many doors for me in a variety of careers before I got into teaching. I even ended up marrying a lady from Peru!
Each language lends itself more naturally to express certain ideas, feelings, facts, etc.
It leaves me unsatisfied sometimes, if I am only “allowed” to express myself within the boundaries of "only" one language.
It has stimulated and challenged my mind. I feel more connected to the world
Learning a second language has given me a new perspective on life. I can now see that there is more than one correct answer to any issue.
It gave me opportunities; to live overseas, to find a different job, to find a job that really inspires me.
Language learning provides a great sense of accomplishment and insight into the host culture.
My life would have taken a completely different turn if I hadn't learnt both Asian and European languages. I think I really 'get' people from other nations now.
