It is about taking personal responsibility to PARTICIPATE
It is about creating a partnership for learning with parents, the community and the world at large.
It is about being aware of the process of your own learning. Be reflective.
Learn, unlearn, relearn...
Buillding a learning community is a process, NOT a program.
It's about being aware. Aware of the collaborations and curriculum connections that are possible both inside and outside the walls of your school.
It's about being aware of your own strengths and weaknesses.
It is NOT about the technology tools, it is about how they support LEARNING.
It's about looking at what you teach every year as a blank canvas, and not doing the same things over and over again. Dynamic community = dynamic learning
Re-thinking what learning looks like.
Everyone learning together - students and teacher
Learning for the sake of learning, not grading
It's being excited about learning and passing that excitement on. It's more infectious than swineflu !!!
It's about being willing to move out of your comfort zone and not being afraid to ask for help.
Involving parents as active participants at different stages of learning rather than just passive observers at the end of learning.
