Political - Japan was also in ruins after the war, and was temporarily placed under US control.
Economic - Britain owed lots of money to America.
Economic - Food, amongst other things, was rationed for a long time.
Social - Women demanded more rights - they wanted to be equal to men!
Political - Hitler commited suicide, the Nazis were totally defeated, and Germany was in ruins.
Political - Berlin (and Germany) was split into a Communist and Free half. The Berlin Wall was built.
Economic - The munitions and aircraft industries grew by a huge amount!
Economic - Many women went to work while the men were away fighting, and some continued to work even after the war!
Social - Hitler killed over 6 million Jews in the Holocaust, because of his fascist beliefs and using them as scapegoats.
Social - Families were devistated, with hardly any being uneffected by the terrors of the war.
