Schools Should Teach Us What Humanity Is
Thoughts on the Internet and Learning
|
||
Nowadays people do not take the time to do things themselves; expertise decreases. We need to balance this out.
We need to go to school because if we don't, we will be too lazy to learn and we won't learn how to socialize.
I think that technology is maybe the only way we can make it through this world.
Students should be learning how to work together and cooperate with other people.
Computers are doing our thinking for us.
Technology allows us to create new levels of knowledge.
We should be learning more than just the facts we research on the internet. We need to learn the 'why' and 'how'.
Textbooks are static. There is no debate or dialogue. On the internet you can read differing and new opinons and facts.
We need to learn to think not just to search.
History is getting longer and longer. This means there is even more information for us to learn.
Technology makes us dependent. We need to learn to be independent.
Schools need to teach us HOW to learn.
We need to study history in-depth so that we can learn from our mistakes. We shouldn't just find the facts when we need them.
School is a place for social learning.
School should stay the same; it's the internet that needs to change.
School is about asking and answering questions in person. You can't do that on the internet.
People have the stereotype that books have the real history but facts are facts. The internet is like a 'speed-book.'
At first school should teach us how to communicate. Then they should allow us to study whatever we want to learn.
If we keep abusing technology, we will all be fat, not socialize, and be stuck on the computer all day. We also wouldn't be grateful for nature & the outdoors.
Because of discussions in school, we are more open to ideas and opinions and not just facts.
Schools need to teach us how to learn things by ourselves, how to deal with other people, how to deal with events in life and manners.
The main purpose of school is teaching yourself how to be your own teacher later on in life.
Technology may make us skip the old-fashioned way but as human beings, we must adapt to the rapidly changing world we live in.
You can get facts from the internet but what about social interactions? What about expressing yourself?
